1967 GTO hardtop for sale. Mileage is about 174,000. The car still has its original WT 400 although somewhat modified, read about the engine here . It is a 4-speed, A/C car as it left the factory in Kansas City. The A/C has been removed but all parts have been saved so it can be reinstalled. The trans has been rebuilt using an Autogear "Supercase", M22W gears and the Autogear iron mid-plate. The rear axle is an Olds 12-bolt posi, 3.42 ratio. I still have the 3.23 posi rear (complete, ready to drop in) and the Muncie trans case that has the partial VIN stamped on it. The shifter is the original Hurst and works fine, like new actually.
Interior modifications:
1) a console I added.
2) a "wood" wheel (what is different about the "wood"
wheel is that I used a 1969 wheel with 1967 mounting hardware/horn button.
I felt the older wheels had too much dish are were too large in diameter).
3) a Hurst "T" handle but still have the black round shift
knob and a walnut knob.
4) Stainless trim around the brake and clutch pedals (only power
brake cars came with stainless pedal trim).
Drivetrain modifications:
1) modified 400
2) electrical modifications
3) Rodney Red aluminum radiator
4) Hays 15# aluminum flywheel
5) Autogear "Muncie"
6) Olds "12 bolt" 3.42 posi
7) HPM rear control arms
8) 7/8" Rear sway bar
9) 1.25" front sway bar
10) Hood scoop opened up for functional ram air
Appearance modifications:
1) Chromed Rally II rims with red line tires
The original restoration and paint job was done in 1996 by the second owner. It has a few minor stone/bug chips, nothing major. The undercarriage is very clean. All body mounts are new as are the springs/shocks and suspension components. During the time I have owned the car I have replaced some trim items (stainless and aluminum trim), replaced the door hinges and touched up a couple paint flaws. In the winter of 2003 the entire front clip was removed. The inner wheel wells were cleaned and powder coated, the radiator support was painted and new hardware was used for reassembly.
