Ron's 1967 GTO
400 4-speed
|
In September of '97 I purchased my 1967 GTO from its third owner. According to the body tag and the original dealer documentation that came with the car I found it was built the 4th week of June 1967 in Kansas City, MO and delivered the second week of July. The original owner had it until sometime in 1986 and logged about 130,000 miles, most of them in the first five years, according to the dealer service receipts. It appears that he used it for his daily driver and never altered or raced the car. Even the little things like wiring harnesses are original and uncut. The body and frame are pretty much rust free with the exception of the lower quarters which were repaired by the prior owner. Not being an absolute restoration purist, some "little modifications" were done to personalize my car. The only appearance modification was the installation of 15x7" chromed Ralley IIs rims on the front and the same in 15x8" size on the rear with red-lined radials all around. It has factory A/C (not charged at this time), AM pushbutton radio and manual drum brakes. Options I added are a console and fast-ratio power steering. The paint is code G, Signet gold, done in urethane base coat/clear coat DuPont Chroma Premier and is the first repaint for the car.
